Hello Hired is recruiting a dedicated and suitably qualified Safety Officer for a client operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This role is suited to an organised, analytical and proactive individual who can identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments and support the effective implementation of occupational health and safety measures.
The successful candidate will play an important role in promoting a safe working environment, monitoring operational risks and ensuring that safety procedures are implemented effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate preventative measures.
- Verify that tools, equipment and machinery are adequate and safe for use.
- Monitor and assess hazardous and unsafe situations.
- Maintain awareness of active and developing safety risks.
- Support the preparation and implementation of the Safety and Health Plan.
- Help maintain a safe working environment through ongoing monitoring and risk management.
- Provide after-hours standby support when required.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4.
- SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a Safety Officer, with four years’ experience preferred.
- Valid South African driver’s licence and own transport.
- HIRA certification.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Level 3 Incident Investigation Certificate.
- Fall Protection Planner Certificate.
- SACPCMP registration.
- Valid passport.
